Very little success for the shuttles

The shuttles between the Galisbay parking lot and the Marigot seafront are not very successful.

Following the introduction of the ‘zone bleue’, the Collectivité developed a free shuttle available to motorists about three weeks ago. From Monday to Saturday, two drivers take turns taking passengers from the Galisbay parking lot to the Marigot seafront. Raphaël Souklaye, aged 29, drives the shuttle in the morning (7 am to 1 p.m.) while his colleague works in the afternoon (1 pm to 7 pm). They both complete on average fifteen round trips and depart from Galisbay every ten minutes. They stop directly in front of the Marigot restrooms where they wait five minutes for potential users before turning around.

Except on Tuesdays when a group of adults who are learning French fills the minibus, the attendance is currently very low. "It varies every day, but on average I transport four or five passengers every morning" reported the driver before explaining that there are both storekeepers and tourists. The Collectivité had announced that after the "learning" period, it would order the police to punish motorists who don’t comply with the ‘zone bleue’. Raphaël is confident that he will soon carry more passengers.
