Saint-Martin Evolution Toastmasters : Shirma France wins Speech Contest!
Toastmaster Shirma France won first The Saint Martin Evolution Toastmasters Club International speech contest on Tuesday, March 6, 2017. The audience was able to relate to her speech entitled “Culture Shock”. Toastmaster Shirma will represent the Club at the next competition slated for Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Area Speech contest, the next level of the Toastmasters numerous speaking competitions held annually. Should she excel at this event, she will go on to represent the Club at the Territorial contest scheduled for later this month. Other participants, TM Glennecia Rogers and TM Nadia Agape did a wonderful job with their presentations on “Bankruptcy” and “My Life Destination” respectively. This competition inspired other members to compete in future events as all participants had fun with their presentations.
Every year Toastmasters around the world get the opportunity to compete in speaking competitions from the Club level all the way to up to the International level. However, a member must compete and win on the Club, Area, Territorial and District levels in order to compete at the International level. There are different kinds of speaking competitions such as the Evaluation Contest, Humorous Speech Contest, Table Topics contest, Tall Tales contest and the main one the International speech contest.
All are invited to come out and support the speech competitors from Areas 28 & 29 (Competing is the Disciples Toastmasters Club and the Saint-Martin Evolution Toastmasters Club) who will be competing at this event on Friday. The Saint Martin Evolution Toastmasters Club congratulates Shirma on her achievement and wishes her best of luck on Friday.
