Cross-border pursuit: the accused returned to St Maarten authorities
The extradition process of Sheldon G. was approved on April 6 by the Investigation Chamber of Basse-Terre; this Sint Maarten national was returned, with his consent, to the authorities of his country by the French authorities.
The individual is accused in a case of robbery and shooting at the Dutch police. After having committed the acts on March 29, he crossed the border and was detained by in French Quarter by the gendarmerie requested by the police in the context of police cooperation between the two sides of the island.
Placed in jail then in detention, he appeared before the public prosecutor in Guadeloupe, who had issued an international arrest warrant and his placement in temporary detention awaiting extradition.
