Bypass of the Boulevard de Grand Case: launch of soil studies
President Daniel Gibbs gave the green light so that the Collectivité of Saint-Martin can launch studies to prepare for the bypass project on the Boulevard de Grand Case starting on May 17. This was announced by the Collectivité in a press release.
This project aims to reduce automobile traffic and unblock the center of Grand Case by creating a road for vehicles and pedestrians along the edge of the airport pond, on the periphery of Grand Case, to connect the RN7 to the new road.
The Project management and regulatory environmental studies have been entrusted to the group ARTELIA (agent)-SCE-TROPISME.
Various studies will have to be conducted within this plan, particularly geotechnical studies of the site that will be carried out on May 17. These studies have the goal of learning about the state of the soil in order to provide guidance on construction principles to use when planning (earthworks, supporting works, slopes and embankments, foundations, foundations for roadways). They will be conducted by excavator. The subcontractor for this work is "Antilles Geotechnical" with two rented excavators with drivers (Didier Lake - EURL TTGCE and Herbert Lake - SARL GCEE).
This initial phase concerns only the feasibility studies. The beginning of work will be part of a second phase which will be planned subsequently.
