Elections COM 2017 : Daniel Gibbs runs for president
Daniel Gibbs, president of l’Union pour la Démocratie and deputy of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, has annonced today he will run for president of the Collectivity in March 2017.
He sent a mail to the population and to the press.
"The time has come to run for President of our collectivity. It is time for us to dare use the 74 article of our Constitution which is a wonderful tool. It is high time we gave a new meaning to our cooperation with Sint Maarten. It is high time we supported our students, those who undertake. It is high time we offered real prospects to all those who are endowed with an entrepreneurial spirit. It is high time we reversed the deal so as to convert our so-called handicaps into genuine assets serving excellency. It is high time we claimed our speci cities and had them respected as part of our wealth.It is time, it is more than high time we guaranteed our children an education worthy of its kind in a clean, secure, highly acclaimed island open to the world", he says.
