No major incidents reported at Heineken Regatta

The Police Department is happy to inform the general public that no major incidents have been reported during the 2016 Heineken Regatta. This major event which is growing annually and which again this year, was well attended by many locals, visitors and many participants in the races and to other events has been a great success.

During this event three persons were arrested for the possession of illegal drugs and on for misconduct they were all arrested and taken to the Philipsburg police department for further investigation. At the police department the suspects were processed and given a fine. The fines totaled the amount of Ant. Fls. 1650,- The police department is taking this opportunity to congratulate and thank the entire community of Sint Maarten and the visitors to the island for their cooperation and conduct during this event.
