EDF: The reason behind the repeated power outages

On Friday morning, another power outage occurred on the French side of the island. There were also power outages yesterday morning and in the early evening which, of course, irritated customers.

According to EDF, these repeated power outages are due "to the switchover from the old installations to the new ones". "The engines of the new power plant work very well, but we’re encountering problems on the peripheral equipment which we’re in the process of analyzing," explained an agent. The settings on these installations are indeed "extremely tricky," he said.

EDF says they’re not able to say whether more power outages will occur during this period of transition between the two installations.
