Fight at the lycée professionnel : the trial of the three individuals has been postponed

The trial of the three individuals involved in the fight at the lycée professionnel on 17 February has been postponed to 12 April in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe.

The three young men were presented on 2 March before the Saint-Martin criminal court for a summary trial. Two of the three had accepted to be tried on the same day, but the third one, on the advice of his lawyer, requested more time to prepare for his defense. That’s why the hearing was postponed to 29 March in Basse-Terre. In the meantime, the Saint-Martin Court ordered provisional detention for two of them and placement under judicial supervision for the other one. A detention warrant was also pronounced against them; they were then transferred to the prison in Guadeloupe on the same day.

Yesterday, the one who had asked for more time to prepare for his defense also changed lawyers and his new lawyer had not fully examined the case. Hence, a two-week postponement.
